South Sudan could experience poor internet access due to a cut in the undersea fibre optic which disrupted the internet connection in southern and East African countries. South Sudan plans to establish a new fiber optic link from Ethiopia to enhance internet access across the country, Information, Communication Technology, and Postal Services Minister Michael Makuei Lueth announced Tuesday. Speaking during a panel at the African Innovation Summit in Addis Ababa. Fiber testing and troubleshooting using Optical Time Domain Reflectometer (OTDR) technology enables engineers and technicians to detect faults, measure attenuation, locate splices and breaks, and verify network performance across long-distance fiber links. Mastery of OTDR testing ensures accurate. South Sudan gained independence from Sudan in July 2011 as the outcome of a 2005 peace deal that ended Africa's longest-running civil war. The country faces many challenges similar to those faced by countries coming out of conflict situation.
