ARTERIA Networks Corporation (Headquarter: Minato-ku, Tokyo, Representative Director, President: Tatsuya Abe, hereinafter referred to as ARTERIA) announced the signing of a contract with NEC Corporation (NEC; TSE: 6701) to build the Asia United Gateway East (AUG East) submarine cable system. The Asia United Gateway East (AUG East) submarine cable system connects Singapore and Japan, with Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, South Korea and Taiwan, spanning a total distance of 8,900 km. Targeted for completion by the third quarter of 2029, the 8,900 km high-capacity cable. A Singtel-led consortium has selected NEC to build the 8,900km AUG East submarine cable system.
